Why study with KASI

A good project manager delivers locally. The best ones go further.

Your qualification proves you can run projects in South Africa. KASI helps you build a career that travels. We are the Regional Strategic Partner for Africa of IIMSTC, the international council in Bengaluru affiliated with the Government of India. Studying with us puts your name inside that network from day one.

For you, that means a place in an international community of practitioners, the chance to apply for IIMSTC’s global internship programme, and a recognised route to international standing through IFSPD Europe, which holds Special Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC. KASI’s seat on the IIMSTC council is listed publicly on iimstc.com, so you can check it for yourself.

This partnership is an international network and recognition pathway. It sits alongside your South African QCTO qualification. It does not replace it.

Already working in project management? Use your experience.

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) allows you to convert documented work experience into credit toward your NQF qualification. If you have been managing projects, coordinating teams, or working in a project office for 2+ years, you may be eligible to credit some modules, reducing the time and cost to complete.

KASI will conduct an RPL screen as part of your application. There is no separate RPL fee. Credits awarded depend on the evidence you can provide against the SAQA unit standard outcomes.

For Employers & HR Teams

Fund this qualification from your Skills Development Levy

If your organisation pays the monthly Skills Development Levy (1% of payroll), you can recover a mandatory grant AND apply for discretionary grants to fund your employees’ qualifications. KASI can structure a cohort enrolment for your team.

Section 12H of the Income Tax Act provides an additional tax deduction of R40 000 per learner enrolled in a qualifying learnership in Year 1, and R20 000 in subsequent years. For a 10-learner cohort, this is R400 000 in tax deductions, typically exceeding the total programme cost.

Common questions

Is this the same as PMP?

No. PMP is an international certification from PMI. KASI’s programme leads to a SAQA-registered Occupational Certificate on the South African NQF, a formal qualification, not a certification. It is recognised by South African employers and SETA-fundable. PMP has no NQF recognition.

How long does it take?

Most learners complete the full qualification in 12–18 months studying 4–6 hours per week. Pay-as-you-go means you can pause between modules without losing progress.

What is the EISA?

The External Integrated Summative Assessment is the final external exam administered by Services SETA (the AQP for SAQA 101869). It is written after you complete all internal modules. The cost is charged at the AQP rate and passed through to you at cost. KASI does not mark up this fee.

What if I am not currently working?

You can complete Knowledge Modules without a current employer, but Workplace Modules require evidence from a real workplace. If you are between roles, we recommend starting Knowledge Modules and arranging a workplace placement before reaching WM-01.
