Leave With a Real Plan for Your Own Project
Not just theory. Over 2 to 4 weeks you build a genuine, usable project plan, for your own work, research, or venture, while learning the key aspects of project management along the way.
"I built this course because most people don't get stuck in project management for lack of ability. They get stuck because nobody ever showed them the basics properly. That's what this is for: the fundamentals, taught properly, applied to something real of your own."
Kuben Naicker · Founder, KASI
Who this is for
Starting out in project management
You've been handed project responsibility at work, or want to move into a PM role, and need the real basics, not jargon.
Students, diploma and degree candidates
A practical companion to formal study, applying the theory to a real plan rather than just the exam.
Entrepreneurs
Running a venture is a series of projects. Learn to scope, schedule and budget it properly, then build your own plan as you go.
Academics and researchers
A funded study is a project too, deadlines, budgets, stakeholders, deliverables. Apply the same discipline to your own research plan.
What you'll walk away with
- A working grasp of the full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure.
- Practical tools you can use immediately: scope statements, work breakdowns, simple scheduling and budgeting.
- How to spot risk early and respond to it, and what "good enough quality" actually means.
- A real, working plan for your own project, built section by section as you go, not a generic worksheet.
- A Certificate of Completion for genuinely finished, reviewed work.
KASI is the Regional Strategic Partner for Africa of IIMSTC (International Institute of Medical Science & Technology Council, Bengaluru). Completing this course connects you to that network and opens an eligible pathway to the IIMSTC international internship programme. Few South African providers can offer that.
How it works
Pay and you're in within a minute. Five sections, each with practical content and a "build your own" step that adds to your final plan. Most people take about 2 to 4 weeks at a comfortable pace, a section every few days; some move faster, some slower. Either works.
Project Foundations & Getting Started
What a project is, the project lifecycle, and picking your own real project to work on throughout the course.
Scope, Planning & Stakeholders
Objectives, scope statements, breaking down work, and identifying who matters to your project.
Time & Cost Basics
Sequencing work, simple scheduling, and building a real budget with contingency.
Risk, Quality & Ethics
Spotting and responding to risk, defining "good enough" quality, and acting with integrity.
Closing Out & Your Final Plan
Closing a project cleanly, then compiling everything into your finished plan for review.
Your Certificate of Completion isn't automatic. It's issued once your submitted final plan has actually been reviewed, usually within a few working days.
Common questions
Is this an accredited qualification?
No, this is a practical, non-accredited short course. It doesn't carry NQF credits on its own. If you want a formal accredited qualification in project management, KASI's full Occupational Certificate: Project Manager (SAQA 101869, NQF Level 5) is the next step, currently working through QCTO accreditation.
What do I actually submit for the certificate?
A short, real plan for a project of your own choosing: objective, scope, stakeholders, schedule, budget, risks, a quality standard, and a closure checklist. You build it section by section as you go, then submit it as one document at the end.
Do I need existing project management experience?
No. It's written for people starting out. If you're already studying or working in the field, you'll move through it faster and can go deeper on your own plan.
